study of over 1,713 actual food-service businesses sold totaling over
$250 million dollars. These sales have been subdivided into a number
of different categories to provide even more useful information.

The study includes a brief
discussion of the conclusions one could make by studying the various
groupings above.
Comparisons are also made
of the Actual Sale Price to the Gross Sales, Actual Sale Price to Seller's
Discretionary Earnings, Average Down Payments Made, Percent Rent Paid,
Inventory and so on. Also, medians are now included.
The reader can clearly see
the additional sale price discount required to encourage an all cash
sale. Also, that larger food service businesses (over $500,000) sell
for almost twice the cash flow multiple that smaller (under $100,000)
businesses sell for.
The information presented
is designed to provide insight into the businesses sold. It will be
useful for Business Owners, Business Buyers, Business Appraisers, Business
Brokers and their clients.
